The University of Maryland University College Anniversary Scholarship Fund will be an endowed fund providing scholarship support to deserving students for years to come. The Fund will be the recipient of gifts in the future from annual Galas or other events.
The UMUC Anniversary Scholarship Fund was founded to mark the 50th anniversary of UMUC Asia in 2006 and to commemorate the university’s 60th anniversary in 2007. Awards from the UMUC Anniversary Scholarship Fund will be made to students in Maryland and throughout the country, based on academic performance and financial need, with a preference for those studying in the online format.

The dollars that you donate to the UMUC Anniversary Scholarship Fund will provide new possibilities to UMUC students. UMUC scholarship funds have already helped many deserving students achieve their academic goals.
"College seemed to be an unattainable dream when I graduated from Laurel Senior High in 1987. I joined the Marine Corps with the hopes of using the G.I. bill to fund my education. I depleted my education benefits soon after receiving my Associate's degree in applied science and had to take one course per semester, paying as I go. The Orkand Scholarship will greatly reduce the financial burden of my education on my family and allow me to finish my degree in spring 2007."

"As a single parent who has been trying for many years to receive my degree, it has only been through generous scholarship and/or grants that I have been able to continue. Just when I thought I wouldn’t be able to take classes for a while, I received this scholarship. I truly thank you for the opportunity you have given me."

"I was thrilled to recently receive notification of my scholarship award for the fall and spring semesters. It has been quite a struggle to afford school on one income and two adults attending college. I am an active duty Navy and my wife has been a stay-at-home mother and recently started back in school too. Between books and fees, we have been quite overwhelmed. Thank you for awarding me the Military Student Support Scholarship."
