Certificate in Criminal Justice Management

The certificate in Criminal Justice Management provides students with a solid foundation in the concepts, theories and practices in criminal justice and will help professionals hone their skills and increase their knowledge to prepare them for advancement in the field. Courses emphasize management, leadership and agency collaboration with a focus on theory and crime-related analysis.

Total Semester Hours: 12

Students must take the following courses:

  • UCSP 615 Orientation to Graduate Studies at UMUC (0) (Must complete within first 6 credits of study.)
  • CJMS 600 Critical Analysis of the Criminal Justice System (3)
  • CJMS 610 Perspectives in Law Enforcement Management (3)
  • CJMS 620 Issues in Correctional Administration (3)
  • CJMS 630 Seminar in Security Management  (3)

Note: Students should complete CJMS 600 as their first course.
