Finding an Accounting or Finance Job for Graduate Students
When Career Services or the Department of Financial Management & Accounting for Graduate Studies hears about an available position for a student, it is placed in the UMUC online jobs database called CareerQuest. To use UMUC CareerQuest and to create a student account, visit web site. Once you are in the system, you can start searching for jobs. CareerQuest houses jobs for individuals at all levels of their career development.
When you register with CareerQuest, you will get weekly e-mails updating you on any new positions posted in the system. You will also be the first to hear about any up coming events hosted by Career Services.
Tips for searching for CareerQuest:
- Keep your search broad. When you are conducting a search for an accounting or finance job, it is recommended that you just choose the job function and do not use keywords. The drop-down box for the job function is on the right hand side of your screen. You should also choose the state where you want the job to be located.
- Use the link for Recent Jobs. If you miss the e-mail from Career Services, you can use the recent jobs entered link and quickly view the most up-to-date job postings.
