While the graphic itself is a button, it is not necessary to identify it as being a button. Simply using the word ''Search.'' as the alt text should suffice.
Logo
Sometimes it can be helpful to identify whether a graphic is a logo; good alt text for this logo might read: ''UMUC logo.'', but ''UMUC.'' is also fine.
