Online Conferencing (Forums and Bulletin Boards)

1 of 3

A forum, or bulletin board, permits asynchronous online communication between instructors and students. Comments or articles can be posted to spark a conversation, with responses posted as well. Online conferencing tools should be easy to navigate, use accessible software, and provide for alternate modes of communication, allowing students who use assistive technologies to join the discussion.

There are two main techniques for creating accessible online conferences:

Accessible Forum Software
Forum software may create access barriers if is not designed to be accessible.
