Ted Figueroa: How do you navigate the Web?

To understand or navigate through new things, a blind person develops techniques—"creative approaches"—that have worked in the past to become knowledgeable in a new environment.

In my online course, I was confused at first, then I tried using the Virtual cursor to read the screen, then I tried using the JAWS cursor, and then I asked my wife to describe what she saw on the screen to get a clearer understanding of the screen layout. Once I know, or have an idea of, what is on the screen and where I can expect to see it, I'm able to navigate with ease.

I am very fortunate because I have a Braille display at work, which affords me a tactile display of the screen layout.
