Be more aware that some students need more time and feedback when it comes to web-based classes.
My first online instructor expected a lot of us. We had an open discussion area. She contributed a lot and we, as students, often helped answer each others' questions. The more the teacher challenged us, the more the students participated. She was always there to answer questions. My next instructor never answered questions, was not accessible and did not seem to care about teaching us. I tried as hard as I could, but did not do as well in his class.
Teachers should not be inaccessible to any student, but especially a disabled student.
One semester, I ended up dropping a class due to the teacher's attitude that we "buck up" or we would never do well in his class. There was no room for mistakes, late papers, etc. I was not encouraged by his "no one gets treated any differently" attitude towards my requests for leniency due to my disability. I am not asking for special favors, just fairness.
