![]() Carole notifies Allison that she is hearing impaired, and
can't hear the narration of the digital video included in the
lessons.
|
There are two ways Allison can provide an alternate version of the narration -- create a transcript or provide captions. A transcript is a text version of the narration in the video. Captions synchronize the transcript with the video. Carole prefers captions. Allison should make both options
available for her digital video.
|
![]() Allison can ask that the publisher of the video post a transcript online. Or, she can request a copy of the transcript from the video publisher, convert the transcript into HTML, and post it on her Web site. Captioning is a more time-consuming process. If the video
publisher cannot supply captions, Allison may be able to work
with a technical support team on campus. She could also review
a Web tutorial and add the captions herself.
