On July 1, 2004, as part of the University System of Maryland’s seven-year fundraising initiative, University of Maryland University College (UMUC) embarked on a comprehensive campaign titled “The Campaign for UMUC: Building a Legacy of Educational Opportunities.” This ambitious campaign, with an overall goal of $26 million, has produced more than $19 million to date.

Supporting UMUC's Needs

This campaign seeks to secure support in four distinct areas of need:

  • Scholarships and endowed chairs
  • UMUC Arts Program and projects including the construction of the Leroy Merritt Center for the Art of Joseph Sheppard
  • Academic program support
  • Unrestricted support to assist in the university’s areas of greatest and most immediate need
