Philip Koch
Fall at Lake Lemon, 1971
Oil on Canvas, 16 x 19"
(40.64 x 48.26 cm)
Koch's
love of nature was engendered in his childhood home at
Webster, located in upstate New York. As an artist he traveled
widely from Bloomington, Indiana, and other Midwestern
states to Ellensburg, Washington, moving to Maryland in
1974. He visited Texas, California and New England, where
he acquired a special affection for Cape Cod and the Maine
Coast. Throughout his travels, he developed an extraordinary
sense of capturing the changing landscape and the fugitive
aspects of light, color, and atmosphere. |
