About UMUC Collections Since 1978, University of Maryland University College has proudly displayed a large collection of works—by international and Maryland artists—in the university’s Inn and Conference Center, located in Adelphi, Maryland, just a few miles from the nation’s capital. UMUC’s Asian Collection includes one of the most important Japanese print collections in the United States. The Art of China collection contains pieces dating from the Sung Dynasty (AD 960–1279) through the 19th century, a historical reach of 10 centuries. Through the years, the university’s collection of the work of Maryland artists has grown substantially. Today, we house one of the largest and most comprehensive collection of Maryland art in the state and provide a prestigious and wide-ranging forum for emerging and established artists of all ages.
