Stephen S. CarterWelcome to UMUC's undergraduate homeland security major. This public safety oriented major is one of several new majors initiated in 2007 related to terrorism and disaster management.

The Homeland Security major develops leadership and management skills directed at international, national, and local infrastructure protection, intelligence operations and counter-terrorism.

Students in this public safety program include both entry level individuals, individuals preparing for career change, and current practitioners of the disciplines seeking academic credentials. The Professors are current practitioners with on-going real life experience and credibility in the field as well as advanced academic degrees.
