Paths to Bachelor's Degree Completion
UMUC accepts up to 70 credits from community colleges or 90 credits from four-year colleges. You could transfer credits from regionally accredited colleges and universities, military service and training programs, and international study.
You may be able to translate the knowledge you've gained from work, military service or community and volunteer activities into credit. Save time and money by earning up to 30 credits with Prior Learning.
Learn on the Job
Apply classroom theory to real-world professional projects at your job and earn up to 15 credits with the Workplace Learning program.
UMUC accepts up to 60 credits toward a bachelor's degree with credit by exam. And you could earn credit for holding industry certifications.
Ways to Earn Credentials Quickly
Undergraduate and graduate certificate 1 programs allow you to earn credentials quickly. UMUC offers business and management certificates that range from 12 to 18 credits.
You can earn your associate's degree from a participating community college while working toward your bachelor's at UMUC through the Reverse Transfer program, saving both time and money.
If you already have a bachelor's degree, you could earn a second bachelor's in a new major with as few as 30 credits.
Earn a master's degree, then add another graduate degree in as few as three additional classes. Dual degree options allow you to increase your marketability by combining an MBA, accounting and finance master's degrees and other master's degrees in business and management.
Transfer Graduate Credits
Up to 6 graduate credits may be transferred toward a master's degree. If you're starting the MBA in fall 2016 or later, you may be eligible to transfer exactly 6 credits toward your program. Your credits must be earned at an approved institution and serve as an equivalent of the introductory course for your program. Fill out a Graduate Transfer Credit Evaluation to find out if your credits may transfer. If you start the MBA before fall 2016, you cannot transfer credits into the program.
