Important Information
Candidate Participation
A large number of students are expected to participate in this event. Job candidates come online, preview your booth(s), learn about open positions, and submit resumes for consideration. Candidates can drop resumes and request chat sessions with participating employers or an employer can set up a specific time to chat online with students.
Booth Preparation
After you register you will be provided with your sign on information. Each company is responsible for preparing a booth. It is a simple process that will take about one hour in which you proceed through a tutorial to prepare your booth. You do not need any advanced computer skills to prepare the booth and technical support is available. You will need job descriptions of open positions at your organization and an electronic version of your company logo. You can also add things like audio and video clips or PowerPoint presentations, if you choose. For best results, it is also recommended that you use the resume drop feature and set up a chat session with students. The company booth must be completed by Friday, February 13, 2009.
Sponsorship Opportunities
As a sponsor, your company may be entitled to waived registration fees at all UMUC job fairs, targeted recruiting opportunities, your company logo included in our job fair marketing materials, on the Career Services Web site, and in our newsletter, the opportunity to write an article for UMUC Career Services newsletter, and invitations to other key UMUC events. Sponsorships last for one year. If your company is interested in becoming a UMUC Office of Career Services sponsor, please contact Katie Nailler at knailler@umuc.edu or 301-985-7412.
