Tickets Are Required for Guests at the Xfinity Center
As a graduate of University of Maryland University College, you don't need a ticket to participate in commencement, but tickets are required for your guests.
Each graduate may claim up to 13 guest tickets.
To meet fire codes, each guest at the Xfinity Center—including infants—must have a ticket to attend. Tickets will be scanned upon entry. Each ticket is unique and will only work once. Tickets cannot be duplicated or sold.
Please note: The doctoral commencement on Friday, May 13, will be held at the College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center at University of Maryland University College and does not require tickets.
Claim Your Guest Tickets
After you RSVP for commencement, you'll use an online form to claim up to 13 electronic tickets for your guests. We encourage you to claim only the tickets you plan to use, because your unwanted tickets can be used by fellow graduates who have additional guests. The online ticket-claim form will tell you how to donate your unwanted tickets.
Remember, you must RSVP for a ceremony before you claim your tickets. Check your registration confirmation for the link to the e-ticketing system. Tickets must be claimed by 9:29 a.m. (eastern time) on April 25.
Distribute and Use Tickets
You'll receive a confirmation e-mail after you order your tickets. The message will include attached tickets that you can print and distribute to your guests.
You can also forward tickets to your guests via e-mail. Guests can then print their tickets and bring them to commencement or display their tickets on a mobile device at the event.
Claim Extra Tickets (If Available)
We'll open the unclaimed ticket pool at 9:30 a.m. eastern time on April 25. Log on to the e-ticketing portal just as you did to claim your initial allotment of tickets. If any tickets are available, you'll be able to claim up to three additional tickets online. Unclaimed tickets will be distributed on a first come, first-served basis.
