Agreement to include
with application:
Admission
to Cooperative Education is based on meeting all eligibility
requirements as determined by Cooperative Education
staff. Students are expected to submit a Co-op
application and a learning proposal. A Co-op enrollment
orientation will be scheduled after the learning proposal
is evaluated and approved by a Co-op faculty sponsor.
The student's responsibilities
as a participant in Cooperative Education include:
- Co-op enrollment
orientation via telephone or the World Wide Web upon approval of
the learning proposal.
- Payment for 3
or 6 credits, as appropriate, at the current tuition rate and the $75
administrative fee following the enrollment orientation.
- Initiating contact
with your faculty sponsor within three days of registering for Co-op.
- Completing the
requirements of the Co-op course in accordance with the
course format in which the student is enrolled. Attendance at all class
sessions is
mandatory in the classroom format. Participating in the Web course
regularly and
interacting with the faculty sponsor and other students is required
in the Web format.
Maintaining contact with the faculty sponsor throughout the Co-op session
is required
in the one-on-one format.
- Contacting the
center staff and the faculty sponsor immediately if work
responsibilities change significantly because of unforeseen circumstances
or if
there is an interruption affecting the Co-op position.
- Coordinating the
Co-op session with the anticipated graduation date if the student has
senior status.
- Representing the
Cooperative Education program at UMUC in a professional and
responsible manner in accordance with the guidelines in the Student
Handbook.
