Department of Defense Directive 8570 (DoD 8570) requires all DoD workers who conduct information assurance (IA) functions to carry an approved certification specific to their job classification.

Get College Credit for Your DoD Certification

Students who already hold the above DoD 8570 or other IT certifications may be able to satisfy certain program prerequisites and earn credit toward a UMUC degree. Documentation of the certification must be submitted within five years of taking the examination.
