Brian Keane
Brian Keane rejoined Citi Capital Strategies in 2006 to lead the deal execution for Citi Capital Strategies. From 1988–1998 he was a Managing Director at Smith Barney and later Salomon Smith Barney. During his tenure at Salomon Smith Barney, Keane ran the firm’s East Coast Technology Group and Technology Mergers and Acquisitions practice. In addition, he was a senior member of the firm’s Financial Restructuring Group, where he represented companies and creditors in situations involving financial distress. Keane began his investment banking career at E.F. Hutton in 1986 and later worked for for Robertson, Colman & Stephens in San Francisco.
Prior to joining Citi Capital Strategies, Keane was the co-founder of Claris Capital, an investment banking boutique in Northern Virginia focused on the technology and government services sectors. Before that, he spent three years at Aether Systems, first as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and later as President of the Enterprise Solutions Division, Aether’s largest operating division.
Keane is a member of the Board of Trustees of Imagination Stage in Bethesda, Maryland, the largest children-oriented performing arts center on the East Coast. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bethesda. Mr. Keane is a National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) Registered Securities Representative (Series 7, 63) and Registered Securities Principal (Series 24, 28). Mr. Keane received an AB in history and mathematics from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
