Scott Kamins

Scott Kamins focuses his practice in the areas of labor law, employment litigation, and drafting and litigating non-competition agreements and employment contracts. He works with companies on the labor and employment aspects of plant closings and the purchase, sale, or merger of a business and has worked with employers to develop policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure a positive work environment. Kamins has obtained extensive experience representing employers on labor relations matters and has represented employers on employment issues including sexual harassment, sexual orientation, race, national origin, age, gender, disability discrimination, wage and hour practices, FMLA, OFCCP compliance issues, and wrongful termination claims.

In his labor relations practice, Kamins' practice centers on collective bargaining and representation, elections in industries including manufacturing, textile services, warehouse and distribution, freight, transportation, hospitality, construction, and health care. He has handled unfair labor practice charges, arbitration hearings, and decertification elections and frequently handles matters before the National Labor Relations Board. Kamins works with companies on the labor and employment aspects of plant closings and the purchase, sale, or merger of a business, and has worked with employers to develop policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure a positive work environment.

Kamins speaks regularly and conducts training around the country for non-union employers on union avoidance strategies, and for unionized employers on how to effectively manage a business in a unionized setting. He has represented employers before state and federal courts and administrative agencies located in most states throughout the United States.
