Faculty Workshops
Workshops are free and open to all UMUC faculty members. Faculty members will receive an e-mail confirmation of their enrollment into workshops at least one week prior to each workshop. Those who register for online workshops will also receive information on how to log on and access the workshop.
Workshop participants will receive a certificate of completion following each workshop. Participants will receive a certificate if they participate in at least 75 percent of the scheduled workshop activities and complete a final deliverable.
Register for our current workshops below. Workshops fill quickly. If you must cancel your registration, please call CTL at 240-684-2770 or e-mail ctla@umuc.edu at least three days prior to the start of the workshop so that we can release your seat to other faculty on our waiting list.
How Does the Wait List Work?
An additional section of a workshop will be opened when the wait list numbers reach the minimum number needed for a new section, so if you are interested in taking a workshop that has already closed, it's a good idea to put your name on the wait list by filling out this form. Please note that the additional section may be scheduled for one to two weeks after the end of the originally scheduled workshop. If the minimum number is not reached, faculty registered for the wait list will be given first priority for the workshop the next time it is offered. If you have any questions, call the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) office at 240-684-2770 or send e-mail to ctla@umuc.edu.

CTL Faculty Development Workshop Certificate Program
The Center for Teaching and Learning launched the Workshop Certificate Program (WCP) in 2006. The WCP is intended to assist faculty in planning a well-articulated, systematized path for faculty development. Faculty development workshops are included in the category of "workshops" mentioned in the Faculty Promotion Policy 181.4A under the Professional Activity criterion.
Types of Certificates
There are two certificates available—Basic and Advanced. The award of the Basic Certificate provides evidence that faculty have attained a basic set of essential skills and knowledge needed for teaching at UMUC. The award of the Advanced Certificate is intended to demonstrate additional breadth and depth in subjects critical to successful teaching and learning.
Please note: The WCP, like all CTL programs, is completely free of charge to all UMUC faculty. More about WCP
