University of Maryland University College requires that you pay your tuition and fees on time. However, your payment due dates depend on how early you register for courses.

Payment Deadlines

There are a few ways to classify students' registration status. Here are the definitions:

Early

You registered more than three weeks before the start date of your course.

Payment is due three weeks prior to the course start date.

Delayed

You registered three weeks or fewer prior to the start date of your course.

Payment is due upon registration, with a five-day grace period.

Exception

You registered on or after the start date of your course.

Payment is due upon registration, with a two-day grace period.

Please note: All other charges, including application and diploma fees, are due on the same day the charges are incurred.

Refunds and Withdrawing from a Course

Registering for a course obligates you to pay for it. If, for any reason, you are unable to take a course, please officially withdraw from it and view UMUC's refund policies to ensure a 100 percent credit. Refunds for drops and withdrawals are prorated, depending on the number of days that have passed since the course start date.

Late Payment

Payment is expected by the due date. If you have not made full payment or payment arrangements by the due date, you may be subject to penalties for nonpayment.
