The Graduate Cybersecurity Scholarship program is designed to provide tuition and fee coverage to UMUC’s graduate students that are enrolled in a cybersecurity graduate program. Scholarship recipients may receive up to $3,000 per academic year (fall, spring, and summer).

Additional Scholarship Eligibility

Admitted into the graduate cybersecurity program.

Applicant cannot receive 100 percent employer tuition assistance or be a Golden ID student.

Applicants cannot receive tuition remission from the University System of Maryland.

Enroll in coursework needed for completion of an associate degree, based on recommendations of the UMUC transfer advisor

Enrolled in at least 6 credits during the award period

New graduate students must be admitted to the Cybersecurity degree program at UMUC, and must maintain a 3.2 GPA for renewal.

How much can I receive?
Recipients will be awarded  $1,000 per semester or $3,000 per academic year (fall, spring, and summer).
 
When am I Notified of the Scholarship Award Decision?
Scholarship applicants will be notified of the award decision via e-mail upon completion of the award process.
 
What is the enrollment requirement?
Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester in order to qualify for this scholarship.
 
Who may apply for a Graduate Cybersecurity Scholarship?
New students who have been admitted to the Cybersecurity degree program at UMUC and renewal applicants that meet the eligibility requirements.
 
When will my scholarship be disbursed to my account?
Scholarship awards will disburse to the student's account 10 days prior to the start of the student meeting the credit enrollment requirement. If the student’s classes have different start dates, the scholarships awards will be disbursed 10 days before the student is actively enrolled.
 
Can I receive more than one UMUC scholarship if I receive the Graduate Cybersecurity Scholarship?
Although  You will be considered for other financial aid such as grants and loans because you filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
 
Can I renew my scholarship?
Yes, recipients may renew their awards for one year. The scholarship is renewed if the scholarship guidelines and criteria are met, (maintain a 3.2 GPA, and enroll in at least 6 credit hours each semester). The recipient must also complete the FAFSA and the UMUC Scholarship Application each academic year for consideration.
