INSTRUCTOR: Apology is a way of reducing the hurt of conflict and bringing parties back to cooperation. Apologies can be direct:
WOMAN, in meeting: "Oh I'm sorry I'm not counting the...you're right"
GIRL, in school: "Here Angel, you can have mine."
ANGEL: "Ok, thanks."
GIRL: "I'm trying to say sorry for what I did."
INSTRUCTOR: Or indirect:
MAN, in meeting: "I was braindead when we decided that because I've had Profs call me wondering where their e-reserves materials are and when they're going to be able to see them and I just keep telling them 'the first day of class.'"
