Complimentary Press Registration Policy
Because of the importance of the Center for Intellectual Property's (CIP) subject matter, the following allowances are available to encourage members of the press to cover and participate in our events and workshops.
Face-to-Face Events, Symposiums, Seminars, and Workshops
Ten (10) complimentary press registrations are reserved. This includes five (5) for full-time editorial staff writers employed by higher education media outlets: newspapers, journals, online magazines, etc., and five (5) for full-time editorial staff writers employed by mainstream media outlets: newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations.
In order to qualify for these press registrations, you must mail or fax a registration form along with proof of employment status with a media outlet.
Freelance writers or contributing editors may request press registration by having the managing editor of the media outlet write to CIP identifying the person covering the event on their behalf.
Members of the press may attend all of the conference sessions. However, permission must be obtained from participants prior to publishing quotes and/or discussion. By accepting this complimentary registration, the recipient agrees to provide hard or electronic copies of the published articles to the center within 60 days of the seminar.
Online Workshops
Members of the press are invited to contact the center to interview a member of the staff. In addition to this, ten (10) complimentary press registrations are reserved. This includes five (5) for full-time editorial staff writers employed by higher education media outlets: newspapers, journals, online magazines, etc., and five (5) for full-time editorial staff writers employed by mainstream media outlets: newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations.

Permissions
The center must be contacted to arrange permission to publish quotes and/or discussion of the moderator(s). Discussion, comments, or positions of the participants is not publishable. By accepting an interview or complimentary registration, the recipient agrees to provide hard or electronic copies of the published articles to the center within 60 days of the event or publication.
