Copyright infringement—its prevention, detection, and adjudication—affects many of us involved in the arenas of education, librarianship, and law. Whether you are an academic administrator, faculty member, librarian, university counsel, IT professional, or student, handling copyrighted information is part of your daily life. This is true in both the face-to-face and virtual academic setting.
Diverse participants in previous CIP symposia have all affirmed the value of the sessions that have addressed issues relevant to the higher education community and the delivery of copyrighted content. This year's symposium will continue to consider changes in the copyright landscape and some of the ways in which copyright is perceived and experienced in society, legislated and interpreted in law, and applied and administered in the library and other learning environments.
