Mini-Workshops and Events on Breeze—Summer and Fall 2006
These short, non-credit mini-workshops and events offer information and instruction using Breeze software. Breeze software relies on Macromedia Flash technology to allow for synchronous meeting communication and collaboration. In most cases, no special plug ins are needed.
How to Participate in a Breeze Mini-Workshop or Event
When you register for a Breeze mini-workshop or event, you will be sent a URL and login information. At the scheduled time, open any browser and type in the URL and your login information to enter the Breeze meeting room. Your facilitator will then welcome you to the meeting and share the meeting agenda with you.
Once in the Breeze meeting room, you will hear an audio presentation from your facilitator. The facilitator also may share PowerPoint slides, animations, or other instructional content with you. You may participate in the meeting by using chat to comment on the material or to ask questions.
In most cases you will only need to view information and use chat to participate. In some meetings the use of a microphone to communicate with the facilitator and other participants may be an option. Please check the detailed information on each mini-workshop or event in order to determine if you will need any special devices other than your computer speakers.
In most cases your facilitator will also record the meeting, so you can go back and access the recordings to review the meeting content. Your facilitator will give you instructions for how to access the recording of your Breeze meeting or event.
If you have any questions or must cancel your registration, please call the CTL staff at 240-582-2770 or send e-mail to ctla@polaris.umuc.edu.
