The Center for the Virtual University's Instructional Applications and
Media Services unit creates multimedia products for UMUC faculty and staff. We develop
instructional applications that effectively utilize text, graphics, animations, audio,
and/or video to support online and classroom learning. We also develop programs to support
promotion and marketing initiatives. Our products can be distributed over the Web or on
CD-ROM.
Our goal is to incorporate meaningful interactions whenever possible, including
exercises and feedback to keep the learner engaged. We analyze your needs to identify a
multimedia approach that meets your goalsand your timeline.

WebTycho TrainingA New Model for Online Teaching This
CD-ROM program, developed for ODELLs Center
for Teaching, Learning and Assessment, is part of a five-week WebTycho training course. It
will be distributed to UMUC faculty in the United States and abroad.
The program replaces two face-to-face sessions that support the online training course.
Material is presented via audio, text, graphics, animated demonstrations, and video.
Several questions with feedback allow students to "check their understanding" of
the material, and step-by-step exercises give students the opportunity to practice
Netscape Composer tasks. |
