Applets are programs written in the Java programming language. As with scripts, references to applets resident on the host server, are embedded in their code. However, due to the complexity and flexibilty of Java, applets tend to run slower than scripts.

Examples of Uses Simulations, logic games, calculators, calendars, function plotters

Requirements for Using it on a Computer Netscape Navigator 4.5+ or Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0+

Requirements for Using it to Create Materials Intermediate to advanced programmer
