Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service - January 21, 2008

Join tens of thousands of volunteers nationwide in celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through a day of service.

On January 21, 2008 the Martin Luther King, Jr. Foundation invites the nation to think of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as "a day ON, not a day OFF." This day is an an opportunity to observe Dr. King's works through a day of giving back to the community through service. The King Day of Service kicks off a new initiative called the “40 Days of Nonviolence: Building the Beloved Community,”which allows families, schools, faith-based and other organizations to plan service projects and educational activities promoting Dr. King’s message of nonviolence and social justice.

All are invited to particpate in this day to give back to the community in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.
