UMUC "Networking That Works" Event for HR Professionals
On Friday, January 31, 2008 approximately 95 people attended the UMUC Alumni Association’s Human Resources networking event. Held at UMUC’s Inn and Conference Center, the event was sponsored by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR).
The primary purpose of the event was to bring together UMUC graduate and undergraduate HR students, current alumni, and local human resource professionals to educate them on the educational, training and career services partnership opportunities available through UMUC.
The event lasted three hours and included a short program that highlighted the presentation of UMUC’s official plaque recognizing its Student Chapter of SHRM, the first ever to be granted a virtual component for online students.
