Dr. Robert Ruskin, recipient of APA Award

The chief assessor for the Leadership Development Program at the National Leadership Institute, Dr. Robert Ruskin, has received the Meritorious Research Service Commendation Award from the American Psychological Association (APA). This award is the highest honor presented by APA, meant to recognize individuals who, through their service with the federal government or other organizations, have made great contributions to psychological science.

Ruskin, who will accept the award in December, partly credits his success to his role as chief assessor for NLI, in addition to his roles as chairman of the Department of Psychology at Georgetown University and director of the Consortium Research Fellows Program, of the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area. In the last 24 years, as chief assessor, Ruskin has steered the leadership development of professionals in the private and public sector, in addition to coaching more than 200 senior corporate and government executives.

“This honor from APA comes as a surprise,” says Ruskin, “to say that I am pleasantly surprised by this acknowledgment from APA would be an understatement.” He added, “I am greatly appreciative of the APA’s acknowledgement. This is a true honor for me.”
