Ten University of Maryland University College’s Online Degree Programs Ranked as “Best Buys” by GetEducated.com

Distance Learning Degree Programs from Regionally Accredited Institutions Surveyed in 2006

ADELPHI, Md. (October 12, 2007) —University of Maryland University College (UMUC) announced today that several of its online degree programs have been ranked as “Best Buys” by GetEducated.com based on a national survey of distance education programs from 37 regionally accredited universities.

Online degree programs were ranked based on a fall 2006 GetEducated.com, LLC survey of publicly posted tuition fee rates at distance bachelor degree programs offered through regionally accredited universities in the United States.

  • UMUC’s criminal justice undergraduate degree program ranked 8th in the country, which includes degrees for criminal justice, law, legal studies, and homeland security;
  • UMUC’s computer science and information technology graduate degree program ranked 8th;
  • UMUC’s psychology, social science, and human services undergraduate degree program ranked 11th;
  • UMUC’s business and management undergraduate degree program ranked 19th;
  • UMUC ranked in the top ten for its human resources undergraduate degree program.
