UMUC Faculty Advisory Council

The FAC Seeks Your Comments on Proposed Amendments to Constitution

The Faculty Advisory Council (FAC) is governed by a constitution that may, at times, be changed. Any member of the faculty may propose amendments to the constitution. However, before any amendment can be adopted, the FAC must initially agree by an absolute majority vote to refer it to the entire faculty. The faculty is then allowed time to consider and comment on the proposed amendment.

The FAC is proposing a set of amendments that is now ready for faculty consideration. Please review these proposed changes.

The review period will be for three weeks beginning February 20, 2012, through March 12, 2012. If you have any comments, please submit them to FAC@umuc.edu by March 12.

Thank you for your participation in the shared governance process of UMUC. We look forward to hearing from you.

About the Faculty Advisory Council

UMUC’s system of faculty governance was formed to create an environment for more informed participation and collaboration in the affairs of the university by faculty. The Faculty Advisory Council (FAC) represents all faculty, including librarians, in UMUC Adelphi, UMUC–Asia and UMUC–Europe. The FAC consists of 18 elected members and one ex officio, non-voting member appointed by the Provost.
