Academic Support Program

The Academic Support Program, also known as ASP, provides support to faculty and students at UMUC.

Support is provided directly to faculty through the use of teaching assistants. Student learning is supported by TAs and by tutoring from student assistants. The assistant dean and academic director of the department determine whether a course is eligible for academic support and if so, which type and level of support is appropriate.

If you are interested in becoming a teaching assistant or student assistant, visit the Employment Qualifications and Application pages. Be aware that not all academic departments employ the services of TAs or SAs.  If you have questions, please inquire with the department in which you are interested prior to completing the application.
