Faculty members who need laptops or projectors for classroom use may request to borrow equipment by contacting their academic department (view contact information for The Graduate School and The Undergraduate School). Requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, until the inventory is exhausted. Be aware that the classrooms at our Shady Grove, Waldorf, Fort Meade and Dorsey Station locations, as well as a portion of our College Park classrooms, already have audiovisual equipment for use at those sites.  

When you contact your department to request to borrow equipment, please be sure to provide the following information:

  • Your name and phone number
  • Course information (including catalog number and section number)
  • Type of equipment you would like to borrow

After your request is processed, IT Customer Support will send you an e-mail with details of the approved equipment loan, or a notice that the equipment is not available. Details about when and where to pick up approved equipment will also be provided.

Approved equipment will be made available for pick up Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., during the first 2 weeks of the month. Equipment may also be returned during these days and times.

Equipment loans will be made for one full semester.  You will be given a two-week window at the end of the semester to return the equipment.  

Loans will continue to be processed for the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 terms, at which point our loan program will end.
