2. Is there a separate application form to complete for adjunct/part-time teaching positions versus collegiate/full-time teaching positions?
To apply for positions, please select “Apply Today" from the navigation menu. Then, select Adjunct/Part-time” if you are interested in teaching as an adjunct; select “Collegiate/Full-time" if you are interested in teaching as a collegiate/full-time faculty within the U.S.; select "Overseas" if you are interested in teaching for UMUC Europe or UMUC Asia.

3. What are the qualifications to teach for UMUC?
A master's degree is the minimum qualification to teach for UMUC. Most positions require a terminal degree (i.e. PhD, DBA, JD, etc.) from a regionally accredited institution. Exceptions to the terminal degree are based on professional/industry and/or teaching experience. 10. What are the differences between adjunct, 9-month NOL collegiate/full-time, 12-month collegiate/full-time, and 10- and 12-month overseas teaching positions?
The differences are as follows:
- Adjunct – part-time faculty that teach a maximum of 15 credits per academic year, either online or on-site at our many locations in Maryland, Northern Virginia, and the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
- 12-month Collegiate – full-time faculty who teach either online or on-site and are eligible for the university’s generous benefits package.
- 9-month Collegiate – full-time faculty who teach either online or on-site on a renewable contract and receive a subsidy toward health and retirement benefits.
- 10- and 12-month overseas – faculty who teach credit courses on a contractual basis for members of U.S. military communities in Europe and Asia.
