The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) is the National professional organization for Certified Public Accountants (CPA’s) in the United States. The AICPA supports several scholarship programs for undergraduate and graduate students interested in careers in business and accounting.

Eligibility Requirement:

  • Applied to and/or been accepted into a doctoral program with a concentration in accounting

  • Earned a Master’s Degree and /or completed at least 3 years of full-time experience in the accounting practice

  • Be a minority student of Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; Asian; American Indian or Alaska Native; Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander; or multiracial.

  • Contentiously enrolled full-time until obtaining doctorial degree

  • Agree not to work full-time in a paid position or accept responsibility for teaching more than one course per semester as a teaching assistant, or dedicate more than one quarter time as a research assistant.

  • Be a CPA or plan to pursue the CPA credential

  • Be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident

Journyx 2008 Scholarship

The Journyx Scholarship Program is designed to improve the philosophy and the technology of project accounting.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be over 18 years of age

  • Must be a U.S. resident

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student (nine semester hours or equivalent) at any university within the U.S.

  • An official academic transcript containing entrant’s spring semester grades for the academic year in progress

  • A copy of entrant’s resume that includes e-mail address, campus address and phone number, student ID number, permanent address and phone number, major and expected graduation date

  • Students must submit an essay of 1000 words or less on one of the two topics listed below.

    1. Persuade someone who doesn’t want to track his time on a per-product per-activity basis why it is in his best interests to do so. Or
    2. Describe a real situation that you’ve encountered where project oriented time tracking has made a positive difference in the world.
