- Legislative
Scholarships
The Maryland Office of Student Financial Assistance administers legislative scholarships. State senators and delegates make awards to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Senatorial scholarships range from $400 to $2000 per academic year. Delegate scholarships range from $200 up to your cost of attendance as determined by your school. Deadline dates vary and you may be required to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and a separate scholarship application. If a FAFSA is required, you may complete and submit your FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. For priority consideration your FAFSA should be submitted no later than March 1 each year.
Most legislative scholarships require full-time enrollment (12 credits per semester). If you plan to enroll less than full-time, you must obtain prior approval through the Maryland Office of Student Financial Assistance at 410-260-4565 or 1-800-974-1024.
You may confirm who your senators are and the delegate for your district by going to http://mlis.state.md.us/. Select the "Find a Legislator" option. You should contact your senator or delegate office directly to inquire about specific eligibility requirements.
