Source(s) of military/civilian untaxed income: (Please note; in accordance with the Department of Defense (DOD) all active duty military will receive BAS, BAH and Clothing Allowance with the exception of O rank service members. You can view DOD’s website at www.dod.mil for further clarification. Additionally, even if you are living in on base housing, you must report the “cash” value as indicated on the above worksheet.) |
| |
| |
| |
|
BAH
is, in effect, paid to all ranks. For example, if you resided
in the barracks or housing for all or part of 2006, your paycheck
will not show a dollar amount for any housing allowance, nor will
your LES (leave and earning statement) show such an allotment.
Nevertheless,
you are required by federal regulations to include the "cash
value" for such housing as part of your untaxed income. The
figures in the BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing) Worksheet are
from the finance office.
These
figures are effective January 1, 2006. Anyone who changed pay
grades during 2006 should prorate the figures to derive the total
BAH (e.g., E4 for 5 months x amount plus E5 for 7 months
x amount).
*Students
who received VHA in their BAQ should report the difference.
