The Orkand Family Military Scholarship Fund
For Spouses of Active-Duty Servicemembers

The Orkand Family Military Scholarship Fund is proud to support the education of those who support our heroes. Eligible spouses of active-duty servicemembers can enroll in the scholarship to receive $1,000 per semester towards the cost of tuition.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, you must

  • Be the spouse of an enlisted active-duty member of the armed forces
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate)
  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester
  • Demonstrate financial need

The scholarship is available each academic year and is renewable with a new application as long as the above criteria are maintained. Students applying for this scholarship will be notified through the existing financial aid process.

To apply for this scholarship you must complete both the FAFSA and UMUC Scholarship Application.
