Christine Gray, who teaches English for UMUC-Adelphi, will be attending a National Endowment for the Humanities seminar to be held at the Library of Congress. Her research will be on African-American drama in the early 20th century.

Scot Haine, associate professor of history, UMUC-Adelphi, had his newest monograph, The History of France (Greenwood, 2000), recognized by Choice as "Choice outstanding Academic Title 2001."

Gary Weir, professor of history, UMUC-Adelphi, is the co-winner of the Organization of American States Leopold Prize for 2002, for his Ocean in Common : American Naval Officers, Scientists, and the Ocean Environment (Texas A&M, 2001). Gary is currently a guest investigator with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and serves as head of the contemporary history branch of the U.S. Naval Historical Center.
