UMUC, UNED to Develop Relationship

On December 13, 2001, UMUC and Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED, the National University of Distance Education, located in Spain) signed an agreement to develop a relationship beneficial to both institutions.

Representatives from the universities have already discussed the possibility of collaborating on curriculum issues, research, and programs that would interest faculty and students of both institutions.

UNED is one of the largest distance education providers in the world, serving 200,000 students throughout Europe, Africa, and Latin America. Since 1997, UNED has held the UNESCO chair in distance education and was chosen by the World Bank to serve the Global Development Learning Network in Latin America.
