LEO: How Do I - Automatically Create Restricted Discussion Topics for All Groups in a Category (Faculty)

You can automatically create a discussion topic for each group in a category. Topic names automatically derive from the groups and group categories they are associated with.

Step 1

Click Discussions on the navigation bar.

Step 2

On the Discussions List page, click the Group and Section Restrictions tab.

Step 3

Under View Options, select a Group Category and a Forum from their respective drop-down menus.

Then click Automatically create restricted topics.

Step 4

On the Create Restricted Topics screen, select a location for the topic from the Group or Section Category drop-down menu.

Step 5

On the same page, select a Group or Section Category from the drop-down menu. 

Then, select a Forum for your Restricted Discussion.

Option:
Create a new Forum by clicking New Forum to the immediate right of the drop-down menu. On the New Forum pop-up window, enter the Title and Description of the forum, click Save and return to the Create Restricted Topics screen to finish creating a Restricted Discussion Topic.

Step 6

Click Create.
