LEO: How Do I - Import Grades from a CSV or TXT File (Faculty)

Many instructors use Microsoft Excel to perform calculations that are not easy to create in LEO. If you are using Excel, you can save your Gradebook as a CSV file and import that file into LEO.

Note: Any imported grade information will PERMANENTLY OVERWRITE and DELETE existing information. Make sure to double-check column headings before importing.
  1. From the Course Home page, click My Tools and select Grades from the drop down menu.
  2. Click on the Enter Grades tab.
  3. Click Import
  4. Click Choose File and locate the saved CSV or TXT file on your computer.
  5. If you would like to create a new grade item when an unrecognized item is found, select the checkbox next to Create new grade item when an unrecognized item is referenced
  6. Click Continue
  7. The next screen will notify you of errors that were found in your file, if any.
  8. Click Continue to import the file, or Go Back to choose a different file.
  9. Review your information and click Import to complete the process.
  10. You will see a message flash on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen to notify you the import is finished.
