Browser: Error - 500 when Attempting to Access UMUC Applications

Error:

You are receiving error 500 when trying to access a UMUC online application or website. Other similar 500 error messages:

  • HTTP 500 Internal Error
  • HTTP error 500
  • Internal Server Error
Cause:

This error message presented in any browser software and version is a general status code to indicate something went wrong with a website’s server page and the exact error could not be determined.  This error code is not related to your computer.

Solution:

Even though this may not be an issue with your computer, it is always a good practice to follow the steps bellow to ensure you are getting the most up-to-date data from the website:

  1. Clear cache and temporary internet files on your browser
  2. Close all open screen sessions for that browser
  3. Start browser again and visit the UMUC online application website.
