The DC Tuition Assistance Program (DCTAG) helps expand the higher education choices for college-bound residents of the District of Columbia by providing grants toward the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition at colleges and universities nationwide.
To apply for DC TAG, you must complete the following three-part process:
Complete the DC OneApp yearly
Complete the FAFSA
Provide the DC OneApp Required Supporting Documents

Disbursement of Funds
DC TAG rosters are downloaded by the UMUC Financial Aid Office once a week. Once the roster has been downloaded, the UMUC Financial Aid Office must invoice the Office of the State Superintendent of Education before the DCTAG award(s) can be posted to the account. The UMUC Financial Aid Office will send a detailed correspondence outlining the awarding, invoicing, and disbursement process.
Please be advised, the invoicing process may take as long as 30 days after the roster has been downloaded. Also, disbursement of funds will not occur prior to the start date of enrolled courses.
