Graduation: I haven't received my diploma yet. How do I prove that I've graduated?

Diplomas are mailed about six to eight weeks after each conferral date; for example, if your MBA was awarded in September, your diploma should have arrived by Thanksgiving. Please update your mailing address at MyUMUC to ensure smooth delivery of your diploma. Visit the Graduation  page for conferral dates and more information.

If your diploma has not arrived within eight weeks after your conferral date, contact Graduation Certification at graduationserv@umuc.edu or 800-888-UMUC (8682), ext. 2-2299.

If you need proof of graduation after the conferral date but before you receive your diploma, you can request a copy of your transcript (Transcripts: How do I order official transcripts?) or request a Letter of Completion (LOC). Either document will show the date that your degree was awarded.

A Letter of Completion can serve as proof that you have satisfied your academic program before degrees are officially conferred at the end of each term. To request a Letter of Completion, please send an email to graduationserv@umuc.edu. Be sure to include your name, student/EMPL ID, mailing address, and how you would like to receive your LOC (e-mail, mail, or fax). If your letter needs to be sent to a third party, please include that information in your e-mail.
