Paths to Bachelor's Degree Completion
UMUC accepts up to 70 credits from community colleges or 90 credits from four-year colleges. You could transfer credits from regionally accredited colleges and universities, military service, training programs, and international study.
You may be able to translate the knowledge you've gained from work, military service, or community and volunteer activities into credit. Save time and money by earning up to 30 credits with Prior Learning.
Learn on the Job
Apply classroom theory to real-world professional projects at your job and earn up to 15 credits with the Workplace Learning program.
UMUC accepts up to 60 credits toward a bachelor's degree with credit by exam. And you could earn credit for holding industry certifications.
Ways to Earn Credentials Quickly
Undergraduate and graduate certificate 1 programs allow you to earn credentials quickly. UMUC offers IT and computer science certificate programs that range from 12 to 24 credits.
You can earn your associate's degree from a participating community college while working toward your bachelor's at UMUC through the Reverse Transfer program, saving both time and money.
If you already have a bachelor's degree, you could earn a second bachelor's in a new major with as few as 30 credits.
Earn a master's degree, then add another graduate degree in as few as three additional classes. Dual degree options allow you to combine an IT degree with an MBA or cyber security degree.
