What if I am a UMUC alum?

Library Databases
Due to licensing restrictions, we limit remote database access to current UMUC students, faculty, and staff. However, these other options may be available:

  • Visit the UMUC Library
You may access the library databases by visiting us in Largo, Maryland.
  • Visit the UMUC Computer Labs
You may also access the library databases at UMUC's computer labs at the following locations.  You will need your UMUC alumni ID to use the computer labs. An alumni ID card can be requested from the Office of Alumni Relations via e-mail at: info@umucalumni.org or by phone at 240-684-5125 (800-888-8682, option 3, ext. 5125).
  • Visit other USMAI libraries
In addition, you are welcome to visit any USMAI library (University System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions) such as McKeldin Library at the University of Maryland, College Park or the Shady Grove Library/Media Center in Rockville and use the electronic databases to which they subscribe.
  • Log in to your public library
You may also want to check your local public library since many public libraries now offer library card holders remote access to databases that can be used for research.
  • Try free search services
Sometimes services, such as the following, will link to free versions of articles.
