Due to licensing restrictions, we limit remote database access to current UMUC students, faculty, and staff. However, these other options may be available:
- Visit other USMAI libraries
You are welcome to visit any USMAI library (University System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions) such as McKeldin Library at the University of Maryland, College Park or the Priddy Library (Universities at Shady Grove) in Rockville and use the electronic databases to which they subscribe.
- Log in to your public library
You may also want to check your local public library since many public libraries now offer library card holders remote access to databases that can be used for research.
- Try free search services
Sometimes services, such as the following, will link to free versions of articles.
In addition to the options above, the following are also available to you:
- Library Services for Alumni
Other services, including book borrowing at selected campuses.
- Visit the UMUC computer labs at Largo or Dorsey Station
With an alumnus ID card, you can visit the computer labs at Largo and Dorsey Station and access UMUC's library databases on site. (Contact the Alumni Association for information about getting an alumnus ID card.)
